Canto I IGNORÂNCIA E SOFRIMENTO DE ARJUNA
Fala Krishna:
25. Eis aí reunidos os parentes dos Kurus!
Fala Sanjaya (o narrador):
26. Então viu Arjuna, nos dois exércitos, homens ligados a ele pelos vínculos do sangue: pais, avós, mestres, primos, filhos, netos, sogros, colegas e outros amigos - todos armados em guerra contra ele:
27. Com o coração dilacerado de dor e profundamente condoído, assim falou ele:
Fala Arjuna:
28. Ó Krishna! Ao reconhecer como meus parentes todos esses homens, que devo matar, sinto os meus membros paralisados, a língua ressequida no paladar, o coração a tremer e os cabelos eriçados na cabeça... Falha a força do meu braço... Cai-me por terra o arco que tendera...
29. Mal me tenho em pé... Ardem-me em febre os membros... Confusos estão os meus pensamentos... A própria vida parece fugir de mim...
30. Nada enxergo diante de mim senão dores e ais... Que bem resultaria daí, ó Keshava (um dos muitos apelidos de Krishna), se eu trucidasse os meus parentes?
31. Não, Krishna, não quero vencer. Não quero, deste modo, conquistar soberania e glória, riqueza e prazer.
32. Ó Govinda, como poderia semelhante vitória dar-me satisfação? Como me compensariam esses espólios da perda que sofreria? E que gozo teria ainda a minha vida, se a possuísse pelo preço do sangue dos únicos que me são caros, e sem os quais a vida me seria sem valor?
33. Avós, pais e filhos, aqui os vejo. Mestres, amigos, cunhados, parentes - não, não os quero matar, ó Senhor dos mundos! Nem que eles anseiem por derramar o meu sangue.
34. Não os matarei, Madhusudana, ainda que com isto lograsse domínios sobre os três mundos - menos ainda me seduz a posse da terra.
35. Dores somente me caberiam por semelhante mortandade.
36. Mesmo que os filhos dos Dhritarashtras sejam pecadores, sobre nossa cabeça recairia a culpa, se os matássemos. Não, não é lícito matá-los. E como poderíamos ser felizes, sem os nossos parentes, ó Madhava?
37. E se eles, obsedados de cobiça e cólera, não vêem pecado na rebeldia e no sangue derramado,
38. Como poderíamos nós fazer o mesmo, ó Santo? Nós que vemos pecado em matarmos nossos parentes?
39. Quando uma tribo se corrompe, perece a piedade, e com ela perece o povo - a impiedade é contagiosa!
40. Corrompe a mulher, mesclando o puro com o impuro, e abre-se o inferno ao destruído e ao destruidor.
41. Até as divindades, privadas dos sacrifícios, tombam dos céus.
42. E essa mescla de puros com impuros produz a ruína das famílias.
43. E o destino do destruidor é o inferno, consoante as escrituras.
44. Ai, que desgraça seria se trucidássemos nossos parentes, levados pela ambição do poder!
45. Bem melhor seria se nos rendêssemos aos inimigos armados e nos deixássemos matar na luta, sem armas nem defesa.
Assim dizendo, em pleno campo de batalha, deixou-se Arjuna tombar no assento da carruagem, e das mãos lhe caíram arco e flechas, porque trazia o coração repleto de amargura.

Lord Krishna is the supreme absolute controller, whose form is pure immortality, omniscience and bliss. He is without beginning, the origin of all, the cause of all causes and the source of the eternal Vedas.
All the incarnations are plenary portions or explansions of plenary expansions appearing in various universes to protect the theists; but Lord Krishna is the original Supreme Lord and the source of all.ete camsa-kalah pumsah krishnas tu bhagavan svayam indras vyakulam lokam mrdayanti yuge yuge
Lord Krishna said I am situated as the soul within the heart of all beings, remembrance and forgetfulness comes from me. I can be known by the knowledge of the Vedas. I am the original creator of the Vedic scriptures and a knower of the Vedas.sarvasya caham hrdi sannivistho mattah smrtir jnanam apohanam ca vedais ca sarvair aham eva vedyo vedanta-krd veda-vid eva caham
Factually all the Vedic scriptures unamimously are the establisher of Lord Krishna as the Supreme Lord of all; but the unique speciality of the Bhagavad-Gita is that the Supreme Lord Krishna is directly speaking this divine revelation Himself.
Lord Krishna said only by unalloyed devotional service can I be understood as I am and can be seen directly. Only in this way can one enter into the mystery of my understanding.bhaktya tu ananyaya sakya aham evam-vidho r'juna jnatum drastum ca tattvena pravestum ca parantapa
Understand that the Supreme Lord Krishna is the original soul of all living entities. For the benefit of the whole universe He has out of His causeless mercy manifested Himself appearing as a human being. He has manifested this by the power of His internal potency.krsnam enam avehi tvam atmanam akhilatmanam jagad-dhitaya so'py atra dehivabhati mayaya
